About the Item
Color print on cardboard from the 1950s depicting single-engine biplane fighter jet Ni 17 manufactured in Italy by Macchi Nieuport of Varese.
Good condition, a few stains. Measures with frame 51x30 cm - 20.1x11.8 inches.
This plane entered service in 1917 with a significant innovation, the presence on board of a synchronizer that allowed a machine gun to be installed on the fuselage that could fire through the propeller without hitting it, greatly increasing the value of the aircraft.
This plane was decommissioned in 1934.
Wingspan 8.20 meters, length 5.95m, speed 160 kmh, range 2 hours.
Designed by Giorgio Bigozzi and colored by Massimo Jacoponi both students in the postwar period of the Rome Art School.
