About the Item

Color print from the 1950s depicting Gabardini monoplane aircraft designed in 1912 by Giuseppe Gabardini and built in Tagliedo in the province of Milan. Mounted on faesite and glass stand with metal hooks. Good condition signs of wear, a few stains and 1 tear. Measurements 60x2x29 cm - inches 23.6x0.7x11.4 It is a pioneering monoplane, made by one of the first Italian aircraft companies that achieved several firsts, including the crossing of the Alps in July 1914, reaching an altitude of 4,300 meters. Wingspan 12 meters, length 7 meters, maximum speed 165 km. Designed by Giorgio Bigozzi and colored by Massimo Jacoponi both students in the postwar period of the Rome Art School.
