Set of 3 Catalogues Of The Byzantine And Early Mediaeval Antiquities In The Dumbarton Oaks Collection. 1st Ed hardcovers with dust jackets in various conditions. Published by Dumbarton Oaks Center for Byzantine Studies Trustees for Harvard University, Washington, DC. Volume 1 and 2 signed by the authors with owner's bookplate of 'Nasli Heeramaneck' and his wife Alice. The Heeramaneck's were Parsian American art dealers, specializing in Asian and Pre-Columbian art. Born in Bombay, they moved to New York in the 1920s, and lived and worked there until their deaths. Works collected by them, are now held by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the National Museum of New Delhi, and Yale University. Volume I focuses on Metalwork, Ceramics, Glass, Glyptics, and Painting. Volume II focuses on Jewelry, Enamels, and the Art of the Migration Period. Volume III is authored by Kurt Weitzmann and focuses on Ivories and Steatites. With B&W and color illustrations. NPT Books a division of N.P.
