About the Item

"Canons, ammunition? Thank you ! Homes... PLEASE" book by Le Corbusier in 1938. Editions l'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui, Collection de l'Equipement de la Civilisation Machiniste, 1938, 1 volume 295x235 mm, 147 pages, publisher's illustrated hardback with cloth spine. Corners and edges dulled, foxing on last two pages, binding in good condition and interior very fresh. Numerous illustrations and plans. Cover illustrated from a collage by Le Corbusier. Monograph of the "Pavillon des Temps nouveaux" at the "Art et Technique" international exhibition in Paris, 1937. Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, born on 6 October 1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, and died on 27 August 1965 (aged 77) in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, better known by the pseudonym "Le Corbusier", was a Swiss architect, town planner, decorator, painter, sculptor and man of letters, who became a naturalised French citizen in 1930.
