Lucien Rollin Architect-Decorator 1906-1993 (Book)

About the Item

A hardback book with its dust jacket which is in very good condition. 127 pages with many full page colour and black & white illustrations showing examples of his beautiful furniture which he designed and made in the early years of his career. When he graduated from college his first job was working for Ruhlmann and helping him with his great contribution to the 1925 Paris Exhibition which became the start of the Art Deco era. In 1928 he started his own design workshop and show room, he loved to use rare and unusual wood types such as Amboyna, Violet Wood, Zebra Wood, Cuban Mahogany and Macassar Ebony. As his fame grew he designed State rooms for the trans atlantic liner Normandie and furniture for the Elysee Palace. Eventually he moved on and devoted himself to architecture and horticulture.
