About the Item

An overview of the work of illustrator and designer Milton Glaser during the 1960s and 70s. From 1954, when he co-founded the legendary Push Pin Studios, to the late 70s, Milton Glaser largely defined the international visual style for illustration, advertising, and typeface design. Across thousands of works across all print media, he invented a graphic language of bright, flat color, drawing and collage, imbued with his customary wit. This collection from Glaser’s Pop period features hundreds of examples of his work that have not been seen since their original publication, demonstrating the graphic revolution that transformed design and popular culture.

Discover 500 of the world’s greatest graphic designs in one big, bold, and brilliant volume This deep dive into graphic design history presents the work of more than 400 designers across 33 countries and 5 continents, with work dating back to the 14th century. Reimagined from the Phaidon best-seller Graphic: 500 Designs that Matter, the book’s dizzying array of designs range from the Gutenberg Bible to Joy Division album art, with work by both anonymous creators and industry icons such as Aleksandr Rodchenko, Paul Rand, Paula Scher, Ahn Sang-soo, and Julia Born. The generous format and two-part design structure allows designs to be shown in detail, with large images up front and a 300+ word text for each entry in the back – making this equal parts picture and reading book. A design category key adds functionality while indicating the sheer variety of disciplines at work within one medium, from advertising and information design to posters, books, magazines, and logos. This book is the perfect reference guide for design and art lovers, enthusiasts, and professionals at any stage of their careers, as well as all those interested in and impacted by visual communication. Carefully revised to bring every detail up to date, organized chronologically, and with the addition of 50 new examples that highlight designers reshaping the graphic culture of today, this collection is more comprehensive, compelling – and relevant – than ever before. The Andy Warhol Catalogue Raisonné Paintings and Sculptures 1970–1974 (Volume 3)
Located in New York, NY
The sculpture and paintings of 1970–4 are the subject of this third volume of the catalogue dedicated to publishing the complete paintings, sculptures and drawings of Andy Warhol (1928–87). As authoritative and detailed as the highly praised first two volumes, here Warhol's sculptures and paintings of these four years are comprehensively catalogued and illustrated. Early in this period Warhol was concentrating on film and sculpture, as he had been since being shot in 1968, but by late 1971 or early 1972 he was returning to painting and developing his painterly, 'sloppy and fast' style; a dramatic shift from his 'hard' mechanical style of before 1968. The volume covers major sculptures, such as the Rain Machine, the series of paintings Mao and Man Ray, and commissioned portraits...

Milton Glaser's Great Illustrators of Our Time exhibition at Rizzoli Galleries
By Milton Glaser
Located in PARIS, FR
Few names resonate in the world of graphic design as powerfully as Milton Glaser, and this 1982 poster is a quintessential example of his ability to merge elegance with immediacy. Created to promote the Great Illustrators of Our Time exhibition at Rizzoli Galleries, the poster is both an homage and a showcase—highlighting not just the work of Glaser himself but the broader cultural importance of illustration in 20th-century art and publishing. The composition is unmistakably Glaser: bold yet balanced, playful but deliberate. His signature use of vibrant color palettes, whimsical linework, and symbolic imagery elevates the poster beyond mere promotion—it becomes a collectible in its own right. At a glance, the poster celebrates visual storytelling. It encapsulates the spirit of an era when illustrators were not just supporting the text, but redefining it—shaping magazine covers, books, advertisements, and cultural identity itself. Glaser, best known for his “I ❤ NY” logo and the iconic 1967 Bob Dylan poster...
