Stated first edition hardcover with no dust jacket. 192 pp. A guide and reference book on violins and the family of makers. Die Geigen-und Lautemnacher nom Mittelalter bis our Gegenwart (The Violin and Lute Makers From the Middle Ages to the Present.) Frankfurt: Frankfurter Verlags-Anftalt A.G., 1922. Hardcover with German text. 98 pp. One of the earliest comprehensive reference books for violins and luthiers. It was compiled by Willibald Leo von Lütgendorff (1856–1937) and originally published in 1904, rare hard to find edition. Antonius Stardivarius by Dirk J. Balfoort. Stockholm: The Continental Book Company. A.B., not dated. Hardcover with no dust jacket. A biography of Antonio Stradivari (1644- 1737) the Italian crafter of string instruments such as violins, cellos, guitars, violas and harps. He is generally considered the most significant and greatest artisans in this field.
