Storta da laboratorio in vetro soffiato trasparente dei primi del XIX sec., utilizzata per la distillazione, presenta corpo ovoidale e lungo collo piegato verso il basso che si restringe progressivamente verso la bocca.
Ottimo stato. Misure lunghezza cm 34 - inch 12.7, altezza cm 7,5 -inch 2.9, larghezza cm 7.5 - inch 2.9.
Curiosità
La storta è un antichissimo strumento da laboratorio largamente impiegato dagli alchimisti che nei secoli ha mantenuto la sua forma praticamente invariata e usata nella distillazione di sostanze grasse.
Le storte possono essere considerate come il più semplice tipo di distillatore, dove il "collo" svolge la funzione di refrigerante da cui esce il distillato da raccogliersi in altro contenitore.
Prima dell’avvento dei condensatori, le storte sono state usate da molti importanti chimici come Antoine Lavoisier e Jons Berzelius.
