About the Item

Four-panel decorative screen made of bamboo and rattan, datable to around 1950s. The distinctive element is the ornamental design achieved by weaving and spiraling curvatures of rattan, a typical technique of mid-twentieth-century tropical craftsmanship. The screen consists of four hinged panels, each about 44.5 cm wide, with a total width of about 190 cm. The height is 173 cm. When closed, it occupies a thickness of about 13 cm. One side features a scroll and heart motif decoration made of curved rattan inside a natural bamboo frame. The other side is covered in clear, smooth fabric that functions as a shielding surface. Condition: in good general state of preservation. Two malfunctioning hinges are reported, one of which probably needs to be replaced. However, the screen is stable and foldable. Decorative object ideal for exotic, natural or vintage taste environments. Perfect as a room divider, scenic backdrop or furnishing accessory. Shipping available.
