About the Item
Chinese export smaller scale four-panel lacquered dressing screen room divider with hand-painted decoration on both sides.
One side depicts a charming continuous pavilion scene with attendants watching over young boys enjoying various fun activities framed in scrolling gold detail. The other side is a large floral design in soft gold, burgundy and pearly white with calligraphy script on each lower panel. The panels are connected with metal hinges reinforced with chain and supported by straight legs. This is a high quality, solid piece of furniture with a nicely aged and softly faded patina.
Smaller than a full size room divider, it may be easily incorporated into a variety of room settings and makes a lovely accent anywhere.
