Green Painted Chinese Folding Screen Room Divider, circa 1840-60
About the Item
A set of four large carved elm wood interior folding screen panels that still maintain their original green painted finish, topped by traditional Chinese fretwork design left in contrasting natural wood with faint, residual red paint.
Each of the four of large panels captures one's attention with the mesmerizing carved fretwork that allows light to pass through this room divider.
Solid, stable and all hinges in place. Any scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this four panel green folding screen.
Each screen is 26.25"wide
Gap between screens when hinged approx.. 1.25"
