Victorian Brass Stick or Umbrella Stand, English circa 1880
About the Item
This is a good quality Victorian brass walking stick or umbrella stand, dating to the late 19th Century.
It is a charming piece of a semicircular design, ideal for the hall.
The stand has a brass tubular top divided into 5 sections, supported by three corner brass rods topped with finials. The rods fit into a non ferrous metal tray base which is black painted and also acts as a drip tray.

- Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Tray base possibly re-painted. Some slight flattening to the front edge of the top tube where it is curved- this is probably due to the bending of the tube from the time of making.

This is a lovely country stool made of Elm in Victorian England during the 19th century, circa 1850.
The elm stool has thick solid circular turned seat or top which sits on four ring turned legs with four shaped turned stretchers between the legs which make this stool very strong and stable.
