This is a large delicate tin model made around the same time the real Tin Goose was flying. The wingspan is an impressive 40 inches. The wheels are rubber and the 4 part windshield is glass. I'm surprised the model survived in such nice and complete condition for about 90 years. We had a custom display stand made for it that brings it to another level. It is not marked, but no matter, it is INCREDIBLE!! The design world calls these transition pieces… of the era when pieces transitioned between the Art Deco period and the Mid-Century Modern period, during the early portion of the 20th century. Ahhhhh, the good ‘ol days!! LOVE IT!!! The maple bears a beautiful natural shade and it features clean lines, a timeless presence, and simple design sure to blend in beautifully with any décor. We think it would be fabulous utilized in a children’s bedroom but it would also be wonderful in a college dorm, guest room, or an industrial loft apartment! The company specialized in streamline equipment for airplanes and would periodically go into the automotive field with race cars and streamline bodies . This study may be based on the 1932 rear engined teardrop car called the Arrow Plane for customer Lyman Voelpel a wealthy Chicagoan and may have served as inspiration for six McQuay-Norris Cars built during that period and into 1934.
