A magnificent and rare fully restored antique Art Deco silver plate serving cart, circa 1930 in date. Serve your roast beef in style!! This stunning trolley is suitable for serving cooked meats such as roast beef, lamb, and turkey. It features a vented silver plated locking retractable revolving dome which opens to a detachable well and water tank over 2 spirit burners. The water tank has two recesses with containers for gravy or vegetables, as well as an aluminium carving board. It has a vented screw knob for filling the tank with water and for vapour or steam escape. The sides are fitted with handles and a detachable plate holder, set upon an oval walnut cabriole leg base. The middle shelf is fitted with an oval silver plated utensil tray and the whole is mounted on four rubberized wheels. This superb piece was crafted by perhaps London's finest silversmith of the time, Drakes Silversmiths of Brewer Street, London W1. It is a Drakes model, D6, No: 824 and bears the silver plated label. It is one of the most desirable models they made, with the revolving dome, which makes it very easy to use. This truly exceptional piece is offered in superb fully restored overall condition. Provenance: Executive Chef John Williams, The Ritz, 150 Piccadilly, London. Condition: In really excellent condition having been beautifully repolished in our workshops, the silver plated parts have all been beautifully replated by a top London silversmith, please see photos for confirmation. A large and impressive Art Deco Doulton Lambeth floral decorated presentation vase made by renowned artist Vera Huggins and dated 1938. The large stoneware vase stands on a narrow round skirted foot with a wide bulbous body with a pinched neck and short everted rim. The body of the vase is decorated around the upper body with incised repeat large floral blooms set within an incised shaped border. The flowers are hand painted in tones of pink, brown and green and set against a pale green mottled ground with the borders in brown and the lower vase decorated in streaked flow blue glazes. The pattern around the top incorporates the initials E.F. along with the date 21.9.38 and believe that this was a unique presentation piece for a special event. The vase has impressed makers marks to the base and is numbered 23024 and unusually has a full Vera Huggins signature (suggesting it may have been a personal gift from her) along with assistant marks for Winnie Bowstead...
