About the Item

The rugs of the Beni Mguild tribe, located in the Moroccan Middle Atlas mountains, are often distinguished by rich monochromatic tonalities, typically in shades of red or blue. These are woven with lanolin-rich wool from the Atlas mountains and constructed in particularly sturdy fashion, making them ideal floor coverings. This rare and unusual example displays a wonderful and very unusual indigo blue field, embellished by various colour gradations that create a blissful visual impression. The delicate diamond pattern is traced in tones of ivory, creating a well balanced and elegant network. The relatively large format makes this rug very useful for interior decoration.
