Incredible 19th Century Ghashgaei Rug

An incredible late 19th century Persian Ghashghaei rug with two large crimson and indigo diamond medallions amidst a fantastic field of flowering bushes, trees-of-life, and myriad animals including deer, birds and goats, all on a dark indigo background. The border is masterfully rendered, with a wide band with stylized flowers and more animals, flanked by two multicolored geometric stripes. This is quite an exceptional rug!
