Mid-20th century hand-woven Persian area rug made from fine wool and all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for people and pets. It features traditional Malayer weaving depicting elaborate 'Boteh' patterns that represents life and eternity in Persian culture. This area rug has dimensions of 7'2" x 9'1" which is ideal for most living rooms and dining areas. Malayer design is considered a classic look by many interior designers which makes it a versatile choice for different spaces. Fun Facts About Rug Names: Malayer is a village that can be found close to Hamadan and Sarouk - both well known rug making centers in ancient Persia. Unlike other rug producing areas that made large sized carpets, Malayer weavers focused more on making smaller area and runner rugs. These rugs are identifiable by the ‘Boteh’ or sprouting seed patterns and use of navy blue as background. Common colors used in Malayer rugs are tan/pink, gold, sky blue, and red.
