I tappeti Ushak in turco Usak sono tappeti famosissimi realizzati nella città Usak a nord di Denizli. Tappeti molto apprezzati dalla corte di Istambul che ne commissionava svariati soprattutto di grandi dimensioni. Erano anche i tappeti dei mercanti veneziani e genovesi che avevano stabilito una sorta di monopolio commerciale marittimo con i turchi, portando da oriente ai porti italiani i primi commerci. Gli impianti decorativi degli Ushak sono vari e possono essere a stella, a griglia o buco di serratura. Realizzati lana su lana con nodo asimmetrico restano tuttora tappeti di grande prestigio. Ricchi di colore, gli Ushak sono tappeti di grande decorazione e alto pregio, molto ricercati dai collezionisti sono esposti nei musei più importanti. Gli Ushak hanno avuto dal XVIII e XIX secolo una notevole diffusione, realizzati anche su ordinazioni per il mercato europeo. Il tappeto che presentiamo della fine del XIX secolo proviene da una dimora fiorentina, ove questo tappeto, probabilmente fatto appositamente, copriva completamente il salone principale.
