19th Century English Yew & Ash Comb Hoop Back Windsor Armchair This is a classic English Windsor armchair, crafted primarily from ash and elm. The warm, reddish-brown finish highlights the wood's natural grain, particularly evident in the shaped seat. The chair features a high spindle back with a carved central splat, gracefully turned arm supports, and splayed baluster turned legs joined by an H-stretcher. Windsor chairs originated in the early 18th century in England and gained immense popularity throughout the 19th century.
