Adolf Wrenger Large Bouclé Beech Wood Armchair Germany, 1950
About the Item
Adolf Wrenger Armchair original, labelled, newly upholstered, Germany, 1950
A very rare wingback armchair with new wool Bouclé upholstery and in very good condition. Adolf Wrenger, the Hans Wegner of Germany, was well known for his sculptural furniture, chairs in particular, produced by his company in Lippe Germany. The frame is in solid, stained beech wood with sculptural typical 1950's modernistic curves and shapes. the front legs are tapered, slightly curved. It's similar to pieces from the same decade such as Carl Madsen or Malmsteen. We used very soft high quality wool fabric with a Teddy texture in ecru or cream-white (Kirkby Design) The chair has been stripped, checked and newly upholstered. Its base is made from beech wood and an beech and oak frame. It's very cozy and comfortable and a pleasure to sit in. Dimensions are 31.5" x 31.5" x 40.55"- seat height is approx. 15.8"
