C R Ashbee. An Arts and Crafts rush seat ladder back armchair with arms that follow down through to the side stretchers. Ashbee used this version of armchair for his family home, offices and personal workshop that he built at 37 Cheyne Walk Chelsea, ''The Magpie and Stump'', the name taken from the old 16th century tavern that burnt down in 1886 on the same site.
