The chair's sculptural and organic forms reflect Juhl's unique design style, which was characterized by a balance between functionality and aesthetics. Like many of Juhl's designs, the France Chair FD136 is a testament to his exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship. It remains a timeless piece of furniture that continues to inspire contemporary designers and enthusiasts alike. Finn Juhl (1912-1989) was a Danish architect, interior and industrial designer, and one of the leading figures of the Danish modern movement. He is best known for his furniture designs, which were characterized by their sculptural and organic forms, as well as their innovative use of materials. Juhl studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he later taught furniture design.
