About the Item

A pair of late Napoleon III fauteuils or armchairs in a hardwood with a burnished gold overtone. In the Louis XV style, chair frames offer carved cabriole legs with escargot feet, scroll arms and carvings on center crest and bottom rail of back and on apron with upholstered seat, back and armrests. Seats are wide and very comfortable, France, circa 1870. This was the beginning of the Belle Époque period in France that ended with the start of the 1st World War. Measures: 29" wide x 28" deep x 43 1/2" high.
