About the Item

A deconstructed low open armchair with a gently scrolled back and a welcoming wide and deep seat. Gently sloping open arms adjoin the frame whilst finished on beautifully turned mahogany front legs ending with original brass castors. The armchair has been fully restored and stripped back to the solid oak frame for upholstery with a refurbished coil spring base, with hessian lining and calico coverings added. Serial number embossed to left back leg. Attributed to J & T Scott, Edinburgh. Scottish, circa 1860.
