About the Item

D51 fagus armrest chairs from the renowned manufacturer tecta based on a design by walter gropius from the 1920s. Here in the rare version with black and white striped upholstery with bauhaus pattern. This design was created for the vestibule of the fagus factory in alfeld. Gropius is thus reacting to the constructive and clear architecture of his modernist masterpiece created in 1911. As with his architecture, this design shows a clearly legible construction in its forms, joints and connections. A minimalist elegance implemented with the highest quality workmanship and materials from the traditional company tecta. The frame is ash, painted black. The upholstery is called bauhaus stripes and is unfortunately no longer available to order. The chairs are in very good condition with signs of wear and patina.
