Designed in 1965 by Giancarlo Piretti, the DSC-106 stacking chair is one of the most famous chairs Castelli ever made. It has become an integral part of design history and features in many museum collections all over the world. A timeless classic in every sense of the word. For sale is a lovely set of four Galvanitas S16 Compass Chairs, arguably the most iconic school chair ever produced. The first to design with sheet metal was obviously Jean Prouve, but in The Netherlands the experiments with these classic compass leg subframes really exploded in the 1950s. Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld designed the similar looking Result Chair for Ahrend in the same period, but the S16 turned out to be the most successful —featuring in most schools and canteens of office- and government buildings.
