About the Item

This bench, designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, was crafted in Italy and dates back to 1970. The piece features three seats mounted on a metal frame with oak wood feet, connected to the bench's skeleton by visible steel elements. The seats have been reupholstered with a Pierre Frey fabric adorned with abstract patterns forming a vibrant geometric composition. The combination of Piretti's creation and the fabric from Pierre Frey gives the piece a unique allure, making it a focal point in any decorative arrangement. The structure has been fully restored, and is found in a great vintage condition. Giancarlo Piretti (1940) is a renowned Italian furniture manufacturer in the fields of interior and industrial design. Joining Castelli in the 1960s, he gained prominence through his iconic creations, notably the Plia chair (1968), acclaimed internationally and recipient of prestigious awards. Collaborating with Emilio Ambasz in the late 1970s, he also pioneered award-winning seating systems such as Vertebra and Dorsal. His innovative designs, inspired by the principles of simplicity and functionality of the Bauhaus movement, continue to endure today, confirming his influence on the world of contemporary design.
