Carlo Bartoli Set of Six 4875 Chairs in Plastic by Kartell 1980s

About the Item

Set of six 4875 chairs (also known as Bartoli) designed by Carlo Bartoli in 1974 and produced by Kartell. The chairs are made of polypropylene, a very resistant and lightweight plastic material, and a beautiful yellow color characterizes them. The seat and backrest were made in one unique mold removable from the four cylindrical legs. The 4875 chair, with its soft curves and compact proportions, immediately became a bestseller and is now considered an iconic piece of Italian design. All chairs present the brand signature under the seats. The chairs are in good condition. The structure is healthy and solid, with minimal signs of use, some chairs present minimal discoloration on the structure.

By Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Azucena
Located in Montecatini Terme, IT
Set of six Catilina chairs with frame in painted steel, seat top in multi-layered wood, and upholstery-shaped polyurethane cushions covered with red fabric. This iconic seat was designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni, and produced by Azucena since 1958. Luigi Caccia Dominioni firstly presents this seat at the XI Triennale in Milan in 1957 and from this moment Catilina became one of Luigi Caccia Dominioni’s classics. Caccia Dominioni created a new chair and also defined how to sit in it. Catilina is not designed for relaxation and letting go but for thoughtfulness and elegance. You could almost be transported back to ancient Rome ensconced in the seat of the Roman senator, Lucio Sergio Catilina, after whom the chair is named. In turn, the chair harks back to medieval thrones...
