About the Item

Magnificent and ultra rare library chair or library steps opus 1536. Design by Jac. van den Bosch for 't Binnenhuis Amsterdam. Striking Dutch design from the 1900s. Solid patinated ash frame with original hand-carved decorative elements. Marked with original manufacturers metal tag and brandmark. In very good original condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. This wonderful library chair or library steps by Jac. van den Bosch for 't Binnenhuis Amsterdam was part of a complete bedroom suite which was designed for the house of one of the major clients of 't Binnenhuis, Merchant Bernhard Israël Catz at the Jan Luijkenstraat 29 in Amsterdam. Jac. van den Bosch designed over 75 pieces of furniture for this client. A real eye-catcher in your home or office.
