Paire de chaises Tolix par Xavier Pauchard première édition fin 1920's La chaise Tolix A, créée en 1925 par l’industriel bourguignon Xavier Pauchard, pionnier de la galvanisation en France, est un véritable emblème du mobilier industriel. Entièrement en tôle emboutie et galvanisée, elle est conçue pour résister aux intempéries et être empilable, répondant aux besoins des terrasses de cafés, des cantines et des espaces publics. Sa robustesse, son design minimaliste et son aspect pratique en ont fait une icône du design utilitaire français. Utilisée dans les bistrots de l’entre-deux-guerres, on la retrouve aujourd’hui dans les collections du Vitra Design Museum ou du Centre Pompidou. Figure de proue du mobilier en métal, la Tolix incarne un patrimoine artisanal rare. La toute première version — très recherchée — fut notamment conçue pour équiper le paquebot Normandie, répondant à des exigences de sécurité contre l’incendie.
