About the Item

This unusual teak child's planters chair comes from the home shared by Michael and Eleanora Kennedy and their children in the Hampton's named Kilkare. Published in a number of articles regarding the couple and their life then again in the listing of the home once it was put up for sale after his death for a then record price. The chair is prominently pictured in a New York Times article then then again in a Hamptons life styles publication. The chair is made of teak in India an indigenous hard wood that ages well and takes weather only becoming stronger while mellowing out to a soft grayish silver. Cained for air flow the chair had been a staple of planters and tropical locations for over 200 years. Large adult versions often have swivel arms allowing for the extension to become a leg rest giving the sitter a full range of cool air around his body.
