About the Item

Gorgeous vintage Vico Magistretti "Carimate" chair with Cassina attribution. The original woven rush seat remains in good condition. The original design was created for the Club House of the famed “Carimate's Golf Club” restaurant. The design takes inspiration from simple "countryside" materials such as straw and wood, with an architectural, open frame, that gives it its characteristic appearance. The iconic chair combines historically excellent Italian craftsmanship with Modernist design. Vico Magistretti (1920-2006) started designing for Cassina in 1960, with this chair design from 1963. We love this as a desk chair, dining chair, corner chair in a bedroom, in an entry hall as a place for setting a handbag, etc. Excellent condition with light signs of age wear including scuffs and niks to beech frame; Excellent structural condition
