About the Item

Carlo Hauner was born in Italy, where he studied art and design. In 1948, he moved to Brazil to dedicate himself to design, ceramics, and textiles. He was with Martin Eisler, the co-founder of Forma, a major furniture company that greatly contributed to Brazilian Modernism by developing industrial modes of production. His work is characterized by using thin metal frames and Brazilian wood. This chaise lounge chair demonstrates his taste for simple but bold pieces. The wide, curved backrest gives it depth, while the seat that rises up over the armrests provides comfort and cocoon-like appeal. Requires Export License to leave the European Union.
