About the Item
This exceptional antique Art Nouveau Vienna Secessionist Salon Suite set includes a settee sofa bench and matching side chairs designed by Thonet and produced by Austro-Hungarian company Ungvar Ungarn circa 1900. The Ungvarer Mobelfabriks furniture factory was located in the city of Ungvar which is in present day Ukraine. The unique design features an elegant combination of turned and bent wood and a beautiful curvilinear profile with upholstered seats, backrests and armrests on the loveseat. This particular design can be found in Thonet's 1904 Illustrated Catalogue, p. 15, Nr. 65.
CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. A few missing wood plugs over screws, but not readily apparent. Upholstery appears to be original.
