About the Item

A vintage rattan round pouf designed by Franco Albini in the 1950s and manufactured by Vittorio Bonacina in the 1960s. An ingeniously designed stool that's composed solely of bent-rattan weaving makes for a Classic and stylish piece. Made of sustainable materials, the midcentury modern stool can be used both indoors or outdoors. Franco Albini (17 October 1905 – 1 November 1977) was an Italian architect and designer who obtained his degree in architecture at Politecnico di Milano University in 1929 and began his professional career working for Gio Ponti. He based his design on a Minimalist aesthetic and produced several iconic pieces such as the Albini Desk, the Margherita, Gala and Luisa chairs, the Fiorenza armchair for Arflex and the Rocking Chaise for Poggi. Albini was awarded three Compasso d'Oro, the most prestigious Italian design prize.
