A staggeringly cool, eye-catchingly original and extremely comfortable designer rocking chair in lovely vintage condition. Designed by Scandinavian Modern Design legend Niels Gammelgaard, this fabulously futuristic rocking chair will make a knockout statement in any interior – not only will this be the chair you can’t take your eyes off, it will also be the one you don’t want to get up from!
A future ‘design classic’, this extremely impressive rocking chair marries Architecturalism with simplicity, Futurism with Sculpturalism and feels like an inspired imagining of Bauhaus in the 22nd Century. But unlike many attention-grabbing and outside-the-box chair designs, this intriguing looking rocking chair also adds one vital element of any great chair – extreme comfort.
Impressively sized, minimalistically designed and easily assembled and disassembled for transporting, this Axvall rocking chair was produced by Ikea at the turn of the 21st Century and consists of a white lacquered metal frame with a net of thick elastic cording providing the large seat – no cushions required, just sit back and sink into this all-round wow chair and rock away to your heart’s content.
All in all this is a stunning, special and extraordinarily comfortable rocking chair, ideal for anyone looking for something a bit different to while away the hours in.
CONDITION
This super rocking chair is in good vintage condition. Structurally sound, there are a few light minor marks to the enamel but compared to other examples, this one is in really rather exceptional condition, with the marks being mainly to the back and underside. All in all it's a fabulous rocking chair in lovely vintage condition and if well looked after, this future classic should be just as amazing for generations to come – please see the photos.
