About the Item
The Kenebec Rocker is an upholstered rocking chair by Erickson Woodworking that features their signature flexible "floating back" which makes for a supremely comfortable sit. Every part of this chair is made by hand, with a process that begins with wood selection from species such as the highly prized California walnut, and then moves on to meticulous joinery and finishing. The seat is fully upholstered with leather or fabric, and strapped with high quality upholstery webbing for the most comfortable of rocks.
The flexible back of the Kenebec Rocker allows the back supports to move with the sitter, flexing and conforming to the shape of the spine and body.
This Erickson Woodworking chair design is the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. The Atlantic Monthly magazine in a review of handmade rockers called the Erickson chair the "highest nexus of art and ergonomics." Custom sizing available.
