France, circa 1780 A fine pair of mid-eighteenth century painted beech wood fauteuils with shaped rails throughout, carved with foliate rocaille elements, the backs with acanthus leaves centred upon two c-scrolls also mirrored on the front seat rails. The chairs covered in Regence needlework of carnations and other decorative flowers. Height 101.00 centimetres. Height of seat 43.00 centimetres. Width 69.00 centimetres. Depth 69.00 centimetres.
