About the Item
Classic, rare and very elegant Danish 1930s bench or settee in the style of Kaare Klint and Frits Henningsen. The settee is unmarked as was most often the case at the time it was produced, however, it shows many design cues reminiscent of Klint and Henningsen such as the tall legs and high squared backrest as well as the base with stretcher bars. Seat height is quite tall at 19 inches and at just 25 inches deep it can go well with a dining table. The piece is nice and sturdy with coil springs in the seat and backrest raised on a base of stained mahogany. Overall solid but the back rest is a little bit loose in places and will need to be re-affixed during reupholstery. The fabric shows wear and we recommend having it reupholstered something we can assist with at a very competitive price. The legs show appropriate minor scuffs and scratches. Overall very good condition.
