Swedish Gustavian Style Settee with Spindle Back
About the Item
Early Swedish settee in the Gustavian style which echoes the Louis XVI style in France. The influence of the French style is further evidence with subtle banded and ribboned decorations on the end and cross traverses and turned Louis XVI style legs. Probably originally painted, the settee is partially stripped.
