Modernist Swivel Side chair attributed to Giuseppe Terragani

About the Item

Modernist swivel side chair attributed to Giuseppe Terragani with a wooden seat and backrest on metal legs. Giuseppe Terragni was an influential Italian architect and a prominent figure in the Rationalist movement. Born in 1904 in Meda, Italy, he is best known for his pioneering modernist designs, which emphasized simplicity, functionality, and a rejection of historical styles. Terragni's most famous work is the Casa del Fascio (1932-1936) in Como, Italy, an emblematic building of the Rationalist style. The structure is characterized by its clear geometric forms, extensive use of glass, and the innovative integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. It was designed as the local headquarters for the Fascist party, reflecting the political context of Italy during that period.
