Biedermeier Walnut and Velvet Cream Color Austrian Sofa Canapes, 1820

About the Item

Biedermeier two-seat sofa. Sofa all veneered in walnut wood and covered in beige color velvet and combined fabric. The sofa is small in size, and seats two people well. It is made up of a band veneered in walnut wood, which starts from an armrest and passes underneath arrives at the other armrest. This shape has two beautiful rounded arms that are covered in matching fabric. The backrest is also formed by a band that runs high and in the middle is covered with beige color velvet. Both the armrests and the backrest, as you can see from the photos, are embellished with wooden parts sculpted in a fan shape. Its paws are very particular, which are comma-shaped both the front legs and the back ones. The backrest is covered in velvet also in the back part, so that the sofa can also be placed in the middle of the room. Wear consistent with age and use.
