This lovely and simple stool was made in the classical tradition of the Chinese craftsmen with dovetailed mortis and tenion joints and was created from elm, a venerated Chinese wood used through out that countries history. Made in the very late 18th century or very early 19th century this simple country form has a finely silvered surface from age and use which is dry and ancient looking. However the stool is very sturdy and safe to use
