About the Item

This romantic pair of Empire style painted wooden Curule stools are from Sweden, late 19th century. Noted style elements include out-scrolling and decorative base. It is the lovely layered and distressed finish that captures the aged charm of this pair. Look closely to appreciate the gray painted finish with slight green undertones, and central accent color of pale rose gold, all highlighted with gold accents. Distress to the finish including scratches, nicks and simple wear is reflective of years and use. The seat has distressed, torn, original upholstery, allowing the buyer to upholstered in their own personal style upon arrival. This pair of wood stools is restored, solid, stable and ready to be upholstered and enjoyed. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely pair. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
