About the Item

Characterful, naive charm Perfect height for occassional table beside armchair or sofa for a drink and nibbles A mid-17th century oak joint stool. The plank top with a moulded edge. Two sets of metal nails and another set of screws show where it has been secured at different times in its history. The plain frieze with two replaced pine rails. Supported by baluster turned legs joined by square stretchers with moulded decoration. The outer edge of the upper and lower blocks outer edge on one leg have been lost probably due to worm and repaired so that they are now chamfered. Original toes. The oak is a lovely colour with a good patina. Measures: Height 51cm., 20in., length 48cm., 19in., depth 30cm., 12in.
