About the Item
A large set of twelve Toledo industrial adjustable height drafting stools. Steel construction with maple swivel seats. The height is adjustable from approximately 25.5" at its lowest setting and approximately 34" at its highest setting. Circa 1950. Several examples still retain the original Toledo, The Toledo Metal Furniture Company, UHL Steel label. This set came directly from the Maplewood, New Jersey School District. These are great for surrounding kitchen island or restaurant bar or high top table.
Good overall condition and structurally sound and sturdy. The seats retain some of the "graffiti" one would see from a high school industrial arts classroom. Staining and uneven finish to the maple seats. Wear consistent with age and use. Some overall finish loss and light oxidation to the bases. The foot rests and legs have the wonderful patina of time and use. All glides and feet are intact. Two glides have been replaced. All are structurally sound and sturdy.
Approximately 16" diameter at the base x 25.5" high at its lowest setting. Approximately 34" at its highest setting. The seat diameter is approximately 15" diameter and approximately 20" across at the base.
