About the Item

A small antique Chinese late Qing Dynasty period blanket chest from the early 20th century, with yellow lacquer, brass hardware and dovetail construction. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty period in the early years of the 20th century, this blanket chest attracts the attention with its yellow lacquer presenting a distressed appearance, complimenting the clean lines beautifully. The rectangular lid opens thanks to a brass lock with floral décor, to reveal a brown stained interior convenient to store items such as blankets and linens. The lid is secured to the rest of the body thanks to two chains. Showcasing a dovetail construction, the chest presents lateral brass C-scroll handles allowing the piece to be moved more easily. With its clean lines and distressed yellow lacquer, this small antique Chinese late Qing Dynasty period blanket chest from the early 20th century will make for a charming addition to any home, placed in a bedroom or living room.
