New England Chippendale Pine Mule Chest

About the Item

A very nice late 18th century Chippendale Pine Mule Chest in an old dry surface with a great color and patina. Very old refinished surface retains traces of the old red milk paint on various areas on the piece. Evidence of the original snipe hinge holes on the lid that probably broke at some point in its lifetime and were replaced with butt hinges. Very thick and heavy white Pine drawer construction, and original rose head nails inside the case on the drawer runners and on the backboards . The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece but the keyhole escutcheons are replacements.
