French 18th Century Walnut Vaissellier
About the Item
A very attractive and high quality French 18th century, walnut Vaissellier, dated 1791, from the Normandy region. The bottom frieze has a carved scalloped apron with a central shell. The doors, with lock and key, have a moulded central panel with scrolled borders, and open to reveal an interior shelf. Above are two drawers with similar carvings and patinated iron pulls and keyhole escutcheons. The open hutch above has three tiers with pierced scalloped galleries, and centered by a small cubby with lock and key. All original hardware and warm patina throughout.
