About the Item

Designed and made in the 1950s, this wonderful credenza was produced by Sigurd Hansen, renowned today for their work producing Poul Norreklit's then-radical designs. Featuring six large drawers, this cabinet really comes alive with the bookmatched and slipmatched rosewood exterior. The left and right sides mirror each other, and the grain tends to flow away from the center, giving it almost a winged appearance. The top is no less exquisite, with interesting peaks, valleys, and knots. The front houses 16 chrome drawer pulls, providing a balanced and sophisticated look. The cabinet sits on 6 chrome legs, providing an almost airy feel. This cabinet looks good placed nearly anywhere, and fully deserves its reputation. Fully and expertly restored. Exterior has been refinished with automotive-grade tooling and our most advanced process yet. Cabinet has been prepared by stripping and hand-sanding for the perfect base to apply stain. Multiple coats of different stains are applied for the best color to suit the wood. Cabinet is then sealed with a satin-sheen polyeurathane, which provides unmatched durability and viewing angles. Chrome parts have been painstakingly polished. Condition is very good, but cabinet does retain age-related marks. Please see our high-res photos.
